7 St Georges Tavern

“Fantastic place, away from the tourist traps.”

We found this place in a guide book and thought we would give it a go whilst on honeymoon. Upon arrival you are greeted incredibly warmly and are told to pick your own table! Brilliant! We chose a table on the edge of the room where there was a slight breeze. All above us were grape vines on trellis.
The table and chairs were rustic but comfy and the surroundings were charming. We were told that there was no menu and that, much the same as others have said, a Meze would be served. They told us that they change the ingredients in the meze every day and alternate things so that you could go back and never have the same menu twice! We were offered organic home produced wine which was very tasty. The food started to come out and we were given a whole home baked loaf which was incredibly Moorish! So tasty. This was served with dips and salad. As the evening wore on the dishes kept coming. Everything was very tasty and superbly explained to us. We carried on eating, trying everything that came out but not finishing it all. There is no way I could have polished the lot off and still been able to walk home! Finished the meal off with lemongrass tea which was perfect and refreshing after the big meal. The brothers who serve you are charming and so friendly. The cats are gorgeous too... we made friends with them all. We enjoyed the experience so much we made a return trip the night before we left to come home and were greeted again so warmly. And they recognised us which was heartwarming. Lovely place, superb food, glorious wine and great hosts. Will definitely be going back.

Jo's Diner

“FANTASTIC FOOD, GREAT VALUE, SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!”

My family & I visited Jo's diner countless times during our recent holiday in Paphos & I wasn't disappointed. Having both been before my parents knew what to expect, but I was amazed!! When you arrive, Leo (a charming, funny character) will take you through the menu explaining every dish in simple yet perfect detail. For those of us who didn't know our Kleftiko from our Stifado this was a great help. For those less adventurous there Steaks, Fish & pasta dishes available. I tried most things on the menu whilst there & must say that both the quality & quantity of the food are the best I've ever tasted. Jo is an amazing cook. Using Leo's home grown vegetables & fresh ingredients the food Jo will cook for you is absolutely mind blowing. The Rack of Ribs is absolutely ENORMOUS & I'd hate to see the size of the pig the pork chops come from!!The set menu options are both varied & terrific value for money. The freshly cooked chips (as opposed to the frozen ones a lot of restaurants serve) are a perfect accompaniment to any meal. The level of service is fantastic. Jo & Leos son Richard is hard working & yet still finds the time for a smile & a laugh with customers. I’ve travelled to lots of places & this is the first time I've felt compelled to comment on anywhere. You’re made to feel more than just a customer & leave feeling like 'one of the family.'If you want freshly cooked, tasty food that’s great value for money served in a warm, friendly environment by people who care than Jo's diner is Highly Recommended.

Gabor Restaurant

“Loved It”

Have to say we had a lovely meal in a really good atmosphere, relaxed and unhurried. The quality and quantity of the food could not be faulted. I’d
recommend the seafood pasta starter loads and the duck with mango and peaches - to die for. Actually there were a few other dishes that I would loved to have tried.

The place was really busy, which meant the staff were rushing about a bit and that if anything is the only complaint I would have. I would strongly recommend it terms of food quality and price (only £80 got 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 sweet, 2 bottles of wine, a brandy and water - excellent value)

“Really is the jewel of Paphos”

I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough - it is excellent. My husband and I ate from the set menu on our first visit. For €17.90 you get a varied choice of 3 courses. I had the fried Camembert cheese with honey, followed by roasted young pig and profiteroles. All were very well executed and beautifully presented, we were amazed by the value and decided to return on my husbands birthday. This time we had chateaubriand, which was incredible and served with a lovely selection of vegetables. The location itself is lovely, sitting up on the rooftop enjoying the views and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The drinks prices are also very reasonable considering the calibre of the restaurant. I would highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys a fine meal.
